Sacred Cup of the North
Kuksa coffee cups are hard to find outside northern Scandinavia, because the birch-burl root of the trees are not harvested commercially - then the skill of carving the shape begins.
Traditionally given as a gift, or carved by the user, a beautiful Kuksa can last a lifetime.
Everyone one of our Kuksa’s are a piece of art and made by hand in Finland. Kuksas can endure extreme temperature changes (great for outdoorsmen) and will not crack with boiling water, even if the air temp is below zero. Kuksa is perfect for drinking very hot coffee, tea (or whiskey). The Kuksa will also not conduct heat and will keep your beverage hot (or cold) longer. The experience of drinking from a cup that used to be a tree is an experience that can't be explained until you try it.
Instructions for preparing your Kuksa for its first use (rubbing with Coffee grinds) and how to keep it looking good for years comes with every cup. Traditionally a Kuksa is passed on to your kids, it is great for collecting berries when hiking in the forest and/or toasting a cold winter night under the Aurora Borealis.
